Animal Record Keeping Workshop
Join us for a two-day workshop presented by Longleat Safari Park's Registrar Ryan Berry, covering good practices, required records and useful tips on how to remain efficient and effective to the operations of an animal collection. The workshop is aimed at those currently working with animals or wishing to join the industry. The training is designed to cater for all, helping those with little or no experience of record keeping, as well as more advanced practitioners wishing to delve deeper into the subject.
- What do we need to record and why?
- Current UK legislation.
- Daily husbandry and behaviour record keeping.
- Medical / veterinary records.
- Information required for animal movements.
- ZIMS practical session - theory into practice - split over the two days. The first day will be an introduction and overview. Day two the group will be split into two smaller workshops.

- Group One - Practical record keeping for beginners; introduction and building on basic record keeping skills.
- Group Two - Advanced record keeping; for those that have a good working knowledge of record keeping but wish to delve deeper into the subject, including specific problem solving related to your collection.

Delegates are required to bring their own laptop or tablet for the practical element of the workshop.
Bookings will not be confirmed unless online registration is completed, and full payment has been made.
Cost for ABWAK members £50,
Members of BIAZA or ICZ association collection £70,
Non-members also welcome £100.
Refreshments and lunch are included in the price.
