The 5th ABWAK Flamingo Keepers' Workshop will be welcoming delegates to Cotswold Wildlife Park on Thursday 18th July 2024. Set in 160 acres of the Oxfordshire countryside and home to a flamboyance of Chilean Flamingos, making this location the ideal host for this workshop. This is an ideal opportunity for flamingo keepers to discover more about their captive care and husbandry, learn about research into their wild habitats, and meet likeminded keepers.

Topics to include all aspects of flamingo husbandry and management, including:

• Encouraging nesting and breeding.
• Understanding behaviour and enclosure use.
• Exhibit design and important feature.
• Conservation and field work on wild birds.
• Dealing with husbandry and health challenges (e.g. Avian Influenza).
• Movement, transportation, and handling.

We are seeking talks on any relevant topics concerning flamingo husbandry and management at your zoo. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss your ideas.
