ABWAK Penguin Keepers’ Workshop
Join ABWAK and Woburn Safari Park, on the 25th April 2023, and celebrate World Penguin Day in the best way possible by attending the ABWAK Penguin Keepers Workshop. Set in the 360 acres of Bedfordshire countryside, Woburn Safari Park is home to large a colony of Humboldt Penguins, making them the perfect host for this workshop.
There will be talks on a range of topics including -
- Husbandry
- Behaviour
- Breeding
- Enclosure Design
- Malaria
- Bumble foot
Also, there will be a tour of the penguin facilities at Woburn Safari Park, the opportunity to discuss life support systems, a practical workshop, and the chance to network with other penguin keepers.
Delegates are asked to bring their penguin diet sheet, and details of their filtration system, to aid with the information sharing on the day.
Priority booking will be given to penguin keepers - please contact the organiser before trying to book if you do not work with penguins but have good reason to want to attend.
Bookings will not be confirmed unless online registration is completed and full payment has been made. Places are limited. Cost for ABWAK members £20, non-members also welcome £40. Refreshments are included in the price but LUNCH IS NOT INCLUDED. Delegates can either bring their own lunch or purchase food on site at the Safari restaurant.
ABWAK provide grants for our members to help fund attendance at our events. Check out the grants page in the members' area of our website for application forms.
